Simon Moglia practises primarily in the Criminal jurisdiction in the County and Supreme Courts. He holds a Victorian Bar Indictable Crime Certificate and is on the VLA Criminal Trial Preferred barrister.
His particular experience lies in cases of:- mental impairment and fitness to plead;- risk assessment and preventative detention, eg, supervision orders;- terrorism offences; - sentence appeals; and- young offenders. Prior to coming to the bar, he was an Associate Public Defender at Victoria Legal Aid with particular interest in law reform and sentencing.
Before legal practice he worked in the community sector for 15 years in youthwork, governance and policy-making.
