Simon practises primarily in the Criminal jurisdiction in the County and Supreme Courts. He holds a Victorian Bar Indictable Crime Certificate and is a Victoria Legal Aid Criminal Trial Preferred barrister.

His particular experience lies in cases of:- mental impairment and fitness to plead;- risk assessment and preventative detention, eg, supervision orders;- terrorism offences; - sentence appeals; and- young offenders. 

Prior to legal practice he worked in the community sector for 15 years in LGBTIQ rights, youthwork, governance and policy-making.
