Patrick accepts brief in all types of criminal law matters, and certain types of civil proceedings.
Since coming to the Bar, Patrick has been briefed in:
- contested criminal hearings; and
- complex criminal pleas;
- investigations into prospective class actions;
- claims for compensation under the Sentencing Act;
- common law personal injury trials; and
- sporting tribunal proceedings.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Patrick was a solicitor for several years, practising in both class actions and criminal law.
As a solicitor, he worked at Stary, Norton & Halphen - a respected criminal defence firm. During that period, he conducted appearances across all Victorian courts and instructed in all types of criminal trials.
He also worked at two large plaintiff law firms, where he was part of teams working on the landmark ‘Thalidomide’ class action, complex securities class actions, bushfire litigation in Western Australia, and the various Essendon Football Club supplements matters.
Patrick signed the Bar Roll in 2017, and read with Megan Tittensor. His senior mentor is Jack Rush Q.C.
