Craig's practice is predominantly in the areas of industrial and employment law and the related areas of administrative, disciplinary and discrimination law.  He appears regularly in the Federal Court, the Fair Work Commission, and other courts and tribunals, in trials and appeals. Craig has a national practice involving regular interstate appearances and advice.

Craig was for many years a Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne Law School teaching Labour Standards under the Fair Work Act.

Craig is a former president of the Industrial Bar Association.
