Following the earthquakes near Christchurch in 2010 and 2011 in which 185, the New Zealand government implemented a Royal Commission to investigate how such devastation could be prevented in the future. This article highlights the most important issues and lessons learnt from the Royal Commission Report that are of interest to construction lawyers around the world.
