List member Rishi Gulati, together with Dr Philippa Webb (20 Essex Street, London) are representing a former employee of the Asian Development Bank headquartered in the Philippines at the United Nations Human Rights Committee (UNHRC). An action has been filed at the UNHCR against the Philippines for breaching the complainant's internationally guaranteed human right. It is hoped that this case will affirm and establish that host states are held accountable for their failures when public international organisations (such as the ADB) hosted on their territory engage in a denial of justice.

For the sixth consecutive year, Foley's List team was the fastest in the Barristers section of the LIV Fun Run. The team of Daniel Gurvich, Daniel Porceddu, Scott Wotherspoon and Andrew Turner collected a second trophy on the night when they were declared the overall fastest team at the event. Well done to all!

Congratulations to Anna Forsyth and Romesh Kumar on their nomination for the 2014 Ron Castan AM QC Award for pro bono work. 

The nomination acknowledges Anna's practise in Employment law and in industrial relations, and Romesh's significant contribution, dedication and support to the Duty Barrister Scheme assisting and advising litigants at court.

Anna also received a nomination for the Public Interest/Justice Innovation Award. This Award acknowledges work which has a strong public interest element, particularly in relation to enhacing access to justice.

Juliet was nominated for her oustanding pro bono work for conservation groups in Tasmania fighting mining developments in the Tarkine Forest and other areas of high conservation significance.
