Simon practised primarily in the Criminal jurisdiction, where his particular experience lies in cases of: mental impairment and fitness to plead; risk assessment and preventative detention, eg, supervision orders; terrorism offences; sentence appeals; and young offenders.
Prior to legal practice he worked in the community sector for 15 years in LGBTIQ rights, youthwork, governance and policy-making.
