PROFILE

John practices in a broad range of civil matters including personal injury, wills and estates, general commercial law and public administrative law. Before coming to the Bar, John was Senior Associate to His Honour Judge Misso at the County Court of Victoria. During that time, John gained invaluable experience in the conduct of trials, serious injury hearings and a wide range of interlocutory disputes.

Previously John was a solicitor at Robinson Gill Lawyers where he practiced predominantly in personal injury law. His matters tended to involve representing plaintiffs seeking compensation under the major statutory accident compensation schemes (TAC and WorkCover), general public insurers and against Victoria Police and the State of Victoria. John also had the privilege of representing clients before the Royal Commission into the Management of Police Informants.

John has been actively involved in volunteer community legal work at Monash Oakleigh Legal Service and FVPLS Victoria (now Djirra). In 2016 he was an author FVPLS Victoria’s policy submission to the Victorian Access to Justice Review. John continues to be available to volunteer his time to worthy causes and will act pro bono in appropriate matters.

John read with Daniel Harrison and his senior mentor is Kristine Hanscombe KC.
