As a solicitor in Geelong for more than 20 years, Allana Goldsworthy worked extensively in the Family Law field. She was a partner in the firm, Hodges Hall. She represented people in many areas of law but focussed on family law, building a large and expanding practice for the firm.
Since coming to the Victorian Bar in 2001, Allana has concentrated on Family Law, accepting work in all facets of family law. Allana focuses on providing strong representation for the client, whilst also assisting them to resolve their matter in accordance with a goal of early resolution. She adopts the practice of gaining the respect and confidence of clients, whilst providing professional and caring guidance.
As a former solicitor, she understands the importance of working closely with her instructing solicitor, and aims to return the brief together with a detailed memo of advice on the same day as any appearance. She is available to provide advice to clients and instructors prior to the issuing of proceedings.
Allana qualified as a mediator in 1994 and has conducted many family law mediations.
She regularly delivers training to the Leo Cussen Centre of Law students, and conducts Workshop training in Family Law for the Centre.
Allana has had extensive involvement with community organisations and continues her involvement with several groups in a voluntary capacity. She served as a Regional Councillor with the City of Greater Geelong immediately before coming to the Victorian Bar. She is currently a board member of the Geelong Community Foundation.
Allana accepts work for the Geelong and Ballarat circuits as well as in the Melbourne Metropolitan region.
