PROFILE

Jordan is a commercial barrister who regularly appears in all Victorian and Federal courts in general commercial disputes. Through his membership at Lonsdale Chambers, Jordan's practice has developed a focus on corporations law, corporate insolvency and bankruptcy law.  

Since coming to the bar Jordan’s trial experience has included: 

  • STEL Ventures Pty Ltd v Chengdu Taste Group Pty Ltd CI-19-0342 (unled, pending contractual and personal guarantee dispute, in County Court of Victoria);
  • NHL International Pty Ltd v Liu CI-19-02729 (unled, pending misleading and deceptive conduct dispute, in County Court of Victoria);
  • Trustees of the Bankrupt Estate of Karas v Meletsis et al VID1279/2017 (led by Michael Galvin QC, pending breach of director's duty and insolvent trustee company dispute, in Federal Court of Australia);

Immediately before coming to the bar Jordan was Senior Associate to the Honourable Justice Sifris of the Supreme Court of Victoria, where he assisted in the management of the Corporations List of the Commercial Court. In this role Jordan worked on a broad range of commercial disputes, including trials involving breach of director's dutiesshareholder oppressionderivative action, voidable transactionsbreach of trust and fiduciary duty, contracts of guaranteereal property disputes, and the provision of judicial advice to liquidators.

Jordan also maintains a regulatory law practice, having successfully defended company directors subject to ASIC disciplinary proceedings. He also maintains a criminal law practice, focused on Corporations Act offences and associated white-collar crime.  

Jordan read with Peter Fary. His senior mentor is Jonathan Evans QC.

Jordan is a member of the Australia Restructuring Insolvency & Turnaround Association (ARITA) and has completed ARITA's Advanced Certification in Insolvency Law.
