PROFILE

Suganya has a broad practice, primarily in public and commercial law, with particular expertise in environmental law.

She also has experience in discrimination law and has represented both applicants and respondents in discrimination matters in the Victorian and federal jurisdictions.

Before coming to the Bar, Suganya was a government lawyer for five years, including as a Principal Solicitor at the Environment Protection Authority and at DHHS. Prior to working in government, she spent 5 years as a commercial litigator at Herbert Geer.

Suganya completed her Master of Public & International Law at the University of Melbourne in 2019, with a First Class Honours average mark. She also has Bachelor degrees in Law (with Honours) and Science (majoring in Mathematics & Statistics) from the same university.

Suganya read with Georgina Costello SC and her senior mentor is Claire Harris QC.
