PROFILE

Tessa practises in employment and industrial law. She also accepts briefs in commercial law, public and administrative law and quasi-criminal matters such as Occupational Health & Safety. 

Prior to joining the Bar, Tessa was an Associate in Gadens’ Employment Advisory Team. Tessa represented clients in employment and industrial disputes, including claims arising from general protections, discrimination, sexual harassment, breach of restraint or confidentiality obligations and unfair dismissals.  Tessa appeared frequently as a solicitor advocate in a number of State and Federal Courts, as well as specialist tribunals such as the Fair Work Commission. Tessa also assisted clients to defend OH&S prosecutions and provided advice to clients regarding employment contracts and enterprise agreements. 

Before settling in the Employment Advisory Team, Tessa practised as a solicitor in Gadens’ Commercial Litigation Team, working on a range of matters involving directors' disputes, shareholder oppression and debt recovery.  

Tessa holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Communications and Sociology (with Distinction). 

Tessa is reading with Marc Felman and her Senior Mentor is Stuart Wood QC.
