PROFILE

Kate practises principally in planning and environment law. She also has experience in land acquisition and compensation proceedings and administrative law matters, including applications for judicial review in the Supreme Court.  

Prior to joining the Bar, Kate was a solicitor at Maddocks in the planning and environment team where she gained experience before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Planning Panels Victoria and the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation.

Kate also has significant government experience having worked as a solicitor at both the Department of Premier and Cabinet and the Department of Education and Training.

Most recently, Kate was Senior Adviser to the Minister for Planning with oversight for major transport infrastructure projects, energy projects and infrastructure proposals requiring an Environment Effects Statement.

Kate read with Barnaby Chessell and her senior mentor is Adrian Finanzio SC.
