Iman specialises primarily in criminal and public law, with a distinct focus on regulatory and quasi-criminal matters. Her expertise also extends to encompass all aspects of child protection.

Iman is experienced in appearing in various hearings, such as pleas, appeals, contested hearings, committals, and bail applications. She has a proven track record in handling various pre-trial hearings in the County Court. Iman is also often led in trials in higher courts.

Iman has also successfully appeared in disciplinary hearings and welcomes briefs across various disciplinary panels.

Before joining the Bar, Iman served as a Legal Adviser at Comcare providing legal advice on complex investigations and prosecutions under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Cth). She has experience in provided detailed advice in the emerging area of psychosocial risks.

Iman has also worked as a solicitor at the Victorian Department of Families, Fairness and Housing where she regularly appeared in the Children’s Court, County Court, Family Court and VCAT. Iman enjoys the challenge of assisting clients facing sensitive and emotional circumstances

Since 2021, Iman has been a sessional academic at Deakin University and teaches evidence law. Iman holds a Bachelor of Law with first class Honours. She graduated with the Victoria University Medal of Excellence and was top of her class.

She read with Shivani Pillai and her Senior Mentor was Elizabeth Ruddle KC.
