Profile

Shannon Jenkins practises in commercial, industrial and employment law. 

Shannon is regularly briefed in complex and high value disputes, both led by senior counsel and unled. He regularly appears in State and Federal Courts, and tribunals, throughout Australia. 

He has been recognised in the 2026 edition of Best Lawyers: “Ones to Watch” in Australia.

Shannon's practice encompasses corporations law, competition and consumer law, contracts, equity and trusts, banking and financial services, insolvency, fraud, property, building and construction disputes, and industrial and employment disputes.

Shannon teaches Corporations Law at Monash University’s Law School. He has previously taught Civil Procedure and Evidence Law.

Prior to being called to the Bar, Shannon practised as a solicitor in the Commercial Disputes practice group at Mills Oakley, specialising in complex commercial, regulatory and insolvency disputes. He also practised as a solicitor in the Public Law Team, at the Department of Premier and Cabinet's Office of General Counsel.

Shannon read with Eddy Gisonda SC. His senior mentor is Bernard Quinn KC.

Briefed for the plaintiff in relation to a misleading or deceptive conduct claim, involving representations as to future matters.

Bernard v Lion Property Group Pty Ltd & Others – Supreme Court of Victoria (led by Andrew Meagher SC, instructed by K&L Gates)

Briefed for 27 defendants concerning the alleged operation of an unregistered managed investment scheme, involving breaches of the Corporations Act, breaches of fiduciary duties and misleading or deceptive conduct.

Lonsford Insurance Brokers Pty Ltd v Beyond Insurance Group Pty Ltd & Anor – Federal Court of Australia (led by Andrew Meagher SC, instructed by Meridian Lawyers)

Briefed by the plaintiff in relation to claims against a former authorised representative of the plaintiff’s financial services license, concerning alleged fraudulent conduct and breaches of the Corporations Act. The dispute concerned financial services laws and involved ex parte freezing orders.

Briefed by the plaintiff in relation to claims against a former officer of the plaintiff, concerning alleged fraudulent conduct and breaches of the Corporations Act. The dispute involved ex parte freezing orders against the defendant and a third party.

Briefed by several companies and directors to defend alleged breaches of the Corporations Act and alleged breaches of fiduciary duties, concerning multiple property developments and joint ventures.
