Stewart practices in common law personal injuries litigation and accepts briefs to appear alone or led from both plaintiffs and defendants in trials, serious injury applications and statutory benefits disputes.
Stewart also prepares paperwork, provides written submissions, and appears at mediations and conferences.
Before coming to the Bar, Stewart was a Senior Associate at Russell Kennedy Lawyers where he acted for employers and the Victorian Workcover Authority (WorkSafe) in a variety of workplace accident compensation disputes.
Prior to that, Stewart worked for eight years as a solicitor to the Transport Accident Commission where he litigated a large number of serious injury applications, trials and statutory benefits disputes. As a solicitor Stewart also gained experience in the appellate jurisdiction having acted in a number of appeals.
Stewart began his legal career in 2005 working as an appearing solicitor in regional Victoria where he gained experience in criminal and quasi criminal matters in regional Courts throughout Victoria.
Stewart holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science attained from Deakin University.
