Alex McLure

Alex practises in criminal, quasi-criminal and administrative matters. 

She is a passionate and tenacious advocate on behalf of her clients. 

Prior to coming to the Bar, Alex had over a decade of experience as a Solicitor Advocate, appearing daily in the Magistrates', County and Supreme Courts. She worked as a Senior Lawyer in the Indictable Crime Team at Victoria Legal Aid, and prior to that as a Partner at Leanne Warren & Associates. 

As a solicitor, Alex has successfully defended clients charged with murder, large commercial quantity drug trafficking, significant fraud offences and serious driving offences. 

Since coming to the Bar, Alex has successfully defended clients charged with aggravated home invasion, aggravated burglary, armed robbery, false imprisonment, assaulting police and other serious assaults, attempting to pervert the course of justice, and more. In most cases, these successful results followed the cross-examination of witnesses and legal argument, but Alex also makes every effort to pro-actively and strategically negotiate with the prosecution at all stages of the proceeding to ensure the best possible result.
