Dr Cait Storr

Cait practises in commercial and public law, with focus on real property, environmental law, and native title. Since coming to the Bar in September 2025, Cait has been briefed to advise and appear for governments, corporations, non-profit organisations, local councils and individuals on a broad range of matters across her areas of expertise, including in federal environmental law; Victorian environmental law; interpretation of planning schemes; commercial property development; sale of land; constructive trusts and equitable remedies; caveats; adverse possession; and connection and compensation in native title.

Before coming to the Bar, Cait was a solicitor at Freehills (now Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer) in the major projects and corporate governance teams. She remains a Senior Lecturer at Melbourne Law School, where she teaches property law, environmental law and legal research, and publishes widely on issues of land ownership and resource governance.

Cait holds a Juris Doctor, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Melbourne, where she received numerous academic prizes and scholarships, including the prize for public law and the University Prize for her doctorate.

Cait read with Rudi Kruse and her senior mentor is Susan Brennan SC. She is a member of the Bar Readers’ Course Committee.
