Christina comes to the Bar as an experienced advocate, accepting briefs in all areas of criminal law, including quasi-criminal, regulatory and administrative matters, coronial inquests and inquiries.
Christina previously worked as a solicitor advocate for the Aboriginal Legal Service of WA in the west Kimberley region, and then spent several years in Melbourne at Victoria Legal Aid, where she held roles in the Advocacy and Indictable Crime teams, and as an Associate Public Defender in VLA Chambers.
Christina appeared daily in summary and indictable crime matters at all stages, in the Magistrates’, County and Supreme Courts (including in the Koori Court divisions and other specialist lists), in committal hearings, contested hearings, bail applications, appeals, breach proceedings, plea hearings, and appeared unled in a mental impairment trial. She also has particular interest and experience in appearing in matters under the Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act 1997 and Serious Offenders Act 2018.
In recognition of her expertise and experience, Christina attained the Law Institute of Victoria Specialist Accreditation in Criminal Law in 2018.
From 2021 to 2024, Christina worked as a Criminal Division Lawyer at the County Court of Victoria managing complex criminal trials across the state. Immediately prior to coming to the Bar, Christina was a Principal Solicitor in the Policy & Specialised Legal Division of the Office of Public Prosecutions with carriage of high-level advice on matters including homicides, negligent manslaughter, culpable driving, and extradition matters, and appeared in Serious Offender proceedings.
Christina is reading with Diana Price, and her senior mentor is Michael Stanton SC.
