Profile
Edwina is an experienced advocate who welcomes briefs in criminal and quasi-criminal matters, regulatory and enforcement proceedings, disciplinary matters, and inquests and inquiries. Edwina accepts both defence and prosecution briefs.
Edwina appears frequently in the Magistrates’, County and Supreme Courts of Victoria, including in plea hearings, contested committal hearings, bail applications and appeals.
Her experience covers a broad range of State and Federal crime, with expertise in complex matters including white-collar crime and fraud, organised crime, drugs and child abuse material.
Edwina’s experience in criminal law has provided her with a strong foundation in common law, an area she is continuing to develop further at the Bar.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Edwina was a Principal Solicitor Advocate for the Office of Public Prosecutions Victoria, and between 2015 and 2019 was a Federal Prosecutor with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. In 2011, Edwina began her career in the Professional Indemnity Litigation team at DLA Piper Australia.
In 2022, Edwina attained LIV Specialisation in Criminal Law.
Edwina is reading with Michael McGrath and her senior mentors are Georgina Coghlan KC and Jason Gullaci SC.
