Profile

Jennika practices in commercial litigation, with a focus on the areas of  Property, Building and Construction, Insurance and Insolvency. 

She has particular experience in building and property development disputes, owners corporations matters, domestic building, professional negligence and practitioner regulation, and insurance recovery actions. She has a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of substantive law, litigation strategy and procedure, and has an affinity for complex problem solving.

Jennika regularly appears in the Victorian Supreme Court and the Federal Court of Australia. She accepts briefs in all Australian jurisdictions, and is briefed in domestic and international arbitration proceedings. 

Jennika has lectured at Melbourne Law School and Monash University in the areas of contract law and construction law, and is an instructor at the Leo Cussen Institute in the subjects of Evidence and Commercial Litigation. She has published articles in the areas of Security of Payment, the statutory regulation of building practitioners, and contracts for domestic building works, and has contributed as co-author or editor to publications in the areas of unfair contract terms, proprietary remedies, and contractual misleading and deceptive conduct.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Jennika was a Judges' Associate at the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Prior to law studies, Jennika was a concert cellist. She has performed as a soloist and a chamber music collaborator in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Jennika has degrees in law from the University of Melbourne and in music from McGill University (Montreal), and Manhattan School of Music (New York).

Jennika read with David Klempfner and is a member of Dawson Chambers.
