Admission: 4 February 1991 (WA); 11 March 1991 (High Court)

Prior to joining the Bar in 1997, Mark was a solicitor and Senior Associate at Freehills (Perth and Melbourne) in commercial litigation and employee relations (1991-1997). He was Associate to Justice French of the Federal Court (as his Honour then was) in 1990-91. 

Mark appears regularly in the Federal, Supreme, Federal Circuit and County Courts, Fair Work Commission, Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and various disciplinary tribunals, as well as providing advice and conducting mediations (as an accredited mediator), predominantly in employment, industrial and commercial law matters.  He also has chambers in Hobart, and is a member of the Tasmanian and Western Australian Bar associations. 

Mark is an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Tasmania where he lectures in Employment Law, and a Senior Fellow at Monash University where he lectures in the Law of Employee Relations.  He is a member of the national committee of the Australian Labour Law Association.  He is a general editor of Thomson Reuters' Fair Work Legislation and National Workplace Relations.
