Profile

Patrick welcomes briefs in all areas of criminal, quasi-criminal, public, and administrative law. He appears regularly in the Magistrates’ and County Courts, including in committals, contested hearings, and jury trials (as junior counsel).

Patrick has a particular interest in the intersection of civil liberties and police powers, including issues relating to searches, arrests, and the use of force.

Prior to joining the Bar, Patrick was a solicitor-advocate in the Criminal Practice of the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service (VALS) and an associate to His Honour Judge Scott Johns KC of the County Court of Victoria.

Patrick holds an LLB (with First Class Honours) and a BA from Monash University. He also undertook study in the LLM program at Tsinghua University as a New Colombo Plan Scholar.

Patrick read with Glenn Casement, and his senior mentor is Dermot Dann KC.
