Patrick welcomes briefs in all areas of criminal, quasi-criminal, public and administrative law.

Prior to joining the Bar, Patrick was a solicitor-advocate in the Criminal Practice of the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service. In this role, he appeared daily in the Magistrates' and County Courts across a variety of matters, including pleas of guilty, appeals, bail applications, breach proceedings and contest mentions. Patrick maintained a large case load of both summary and indictable matters, both in metropolitan and regional Courts.

He is particularly interested in the intersection of civil liberties and police powers, including issues around searches, arrests and use of force.

Patrick was an associate to His Honour Judge Scott Johns KC of the County Court of Victoria. He assisted His Honour across a variety of matters, including jury trials, special hearings and fitness investigations, and in his capacity as head of the County Koori Court.

Before practise, Patrick spent three years in personal injury law and clerked at leading commercial law firms. He was also employed as a youth worker in remote communities in the Kimberley (WA).

Patrick holds an LLB (with first class honours) & BA from Monash University. He also completed study in the LLM program at Tsinghua University as a New Colombo Plan Scholar.

Patrick is reading with Glenn Casement and his senior mentor is Dermot Dann KC.
