Profile

Rohan Millar practices in employment and workplace relations law, together with general commercial advice and litigation. His practice particularly involves court and tribunal appearances and advice work in:

  • termination of employment;
  • adverse action/general protections proceedings;
  • unfair dismissal;
  • drafting employment contracts;
  • misuse of confidential information;
  • post-employment restraints;
  • discrimination;
  • sexual harassment;
  • industrial agreements;
  • industrial action; and
  • transmissions of business.

Prior to joining the Bar in 2000, Rohan was Special Counsel - Industrial Relations at Arthur Robinson and Hedderwicks, and was previously a Senior Associate at Mallesons Stephen Jaques, which he joined as an articled clerk. During his time at Mallesons, Rohan spent 12 months on secondment as the Legal and Industrial Officer for a national employer industry association. He is a regular presenter at seminars and lectures in employment law, particularly on the contract of employment and the employment law consequences of commercial transactions.

Since 2012, Rohan has been joint General Editor of Fair Work Legislation published annually by Thomson Reuters, and is the author of commentary for that volume and the associated online service.
