Romesh Kumar comes to the Bar with a strong background in personal injuries and civil litigation.
After completing articles of clerkship with Nowicki Carbone Lawyers, he moved to London and worked on a number of projects with DLA Piper’s regulatory and litigation team. He was subsequently employed in the complaints and litigation department of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
Romesh returned to Melbourne in 2009. He joined Hall & Wilcox Lawyers in its Accident Compensation Litigation department, undertaking a variety of WorkCover litigation.
As a young barrister, Romesh has continued to expand his personal injuries expertise, and has been involved in appellate matters and judicial review applications, as well as statutory benefits disputes, serious injury applications, and damages claims (both causes and juries). Additionally, he has been briefed in general commercial disputes and employment law matters, including applications for unfair dismissal.
In 2014, Romesh completed a Masters of Law at the University of Melbourne, in which he focused on legal issues of particular interest, including in the areas of international criminal justice, administrative law, and internet law.
