Shane studied Law in the Northern Territory prior to working as a Judge's Associate in the NT Supreme Court in 1995.

Since was called to the Bar in 1998, and practises exclusively in family and relationship law as counsel or mediator. 
 
Shane has been a National Accredited Mediator since 2011 and holds mediations in:
