Profile
Sharni practises in employment and industrial relations. She also accepts briefs in administrative law and civil regulatory matters.
She has experience across all areas of employment law, including unfair dismissals, general protections, bullying and sexual harassment, employment contracts, restraint of trade and protection of confidential information, and compliance reviews. She has particular experience in complex industrial matters, including right of entry, enterprise bargaining, and enterprise agreement and award interpretation disputes in the Fair Work Commission and Federal Court.
She has acted as a bargaining representative in large-scale enterprise agreement negotiations and has instructed in significant award interpretation and appellate proceedings.
Immediately before coming to the Bar, Sharni was in-house at BHP. Prior to this, she was a solicitor at MinterEllison in the Workplace team and at AGS in the Administrative Law team.
Sharni commenced her career as Associate to Commissioner Platt of the Fair Work Commission.
Sharni is reading with Alex Manos and her senior mentor is Jack Tracey KC.
