Simone accepts briefs to appear and advise in criminal, regulatory, administrative law and intervention order matters.
Criminal & Regulatory Law
Simone appears regularly in trials, both led and unled, contested hearings, committals, bail applications and pleas.
Simone has expertise in white collar offences, including regulatory investigations and prosecutions. Simone has experience advising and appearing in frauds and money laundering matters, as well as matters arising from WorkSafe, ASIC, ACCC, AFSA, ATO, AGS, ESV, EPA and local council investigations. Simone appeared as junior counsel in the first Federal Court jury trial for a price fixing cartel.
Simone has extensive experience advising on the conduct of investigations and the use of coercive powers.
Simone appears as counsel assisting in various Commissions and Inquiries, and in matters under the Serious Offenders Act 2018 and the Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act 1997.
Simone accepts briefs to advise and appear in disciplinary proceedings and other workplace investigations.
Public & Administrative Law
Simone accepts briefs in all areas of public & administrative law, including tax reviews in the AAT on behalf of private individuals and the government.

Background
Prior to coming to the Bar, Simone practised as a Senior Lawyer at the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC) and as a Senior Federal Prosecutor at the Commonwealth DPP in both Melbourne and Perth.
Simone also practised as a lawyer at the Legal Profession Complaints Committee of Western Australia investigating lawyer misconduct matters.
Simone was Associate to Justice Weinberg in the Court of Appeal and is currently a Teaching Associate in criminal law at Monash University.
Simone has a Masters degree in Human Rights Law with a focus on gender based crimes.
Simone read with Jason Gullaci SC. Her senior mentor is the Honourable Justice Lesley Taylor.
