Travis specialises in planning and environment law across multiple jurisdictions.

He accepts briefs in a broad range of matters including:

  • Planning appeals.
  • Enforcement proceedings.
  • Advising local government.
  • Property law matters.
  • Land acquisition and compensation proceedings.
  • Building disputes and building regulation.

Prior to specialising in planning and environment law, Travis gained years of experience in criminal, quasi-criminal and intervention order proceedings, and continues to accept briefs in these areas.

He has appeared before the Supreme, County and Magistrates' Courts, the Court of Appeal, VCAT and Planning Panels Victoria.

Before his career in law, Travis owned and operated a bookshop in Melbourne and acted as secretary of the precinct business association.

Immediately before coming to the Bar, he was Associate to His Honour Judge Bill Stuart.

Travis is a member of the Victorian Planning & Environment Law Association.
