Barrister Information

Profile

Chris accepts briefs to appear and advise in criminal law, migration law, family law, commercial disputes, military law and employment law. Chris holds an Indictable Crime Certificate (ICC).

Prior to coming to the Bar, Chris practised as a solicitor for over seven years in a boutique commercial law firm and a leading migration law firm.

Chris’ commercial practice saw him providing advice in commercial disputes, drafting shareholder agreements, opposing winding-up applications, unfair dismissals, and seconded to work with in-house legal teams. Chris’ work in migration law saw him appear in the Federal Court, Federal Circuit Court and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal as well as give advice in all areas of migration law. Chris’ migration practice also took him into areas of criminal, family, and employment law. As a result of these intersections of the law, Chris has also appeared at the Magistrates’ Court, County Court of Victoria and in the Fair Work Commission.

Before being admitted to legal practice, Chris had a 17-year career as a Principal Warfare Officer in the Royal Australian Navy. Chris also has six years of management consulting experience, advising telecommunication and energy service providers on commercial matters relating to IT transformation projects.
