Damien Dao

Damien accepts briefs to appear in and advise on all matters relating to family law.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Damien was a senior associate at marshalls+dent+wilmoth lawyers practising exclusively in family law, where he gained extensive experience across matters family law and associated jurisdictions, including:

• financial matters involving sophisticated corporate and/or trust structures, third party rights, valuation disputes, non-disclosure, and concurrent litigation in other jurisdictions;
• spousal maintenance and child support disputes;
• parenting matters involving relocation, allegations of sexual and parental abuse, family violence, neurodiverse children, and allegations of drug or alcohol abuse; and
• drafting financial agreements and child support agreements.

Damien regularly appeared as a solicitor advocate in Court and at mediations.

In 2024, 2025, and 2026 Damien was recognised by Doyle's Guide as a "Rising Star" in family law.

Damien is a member of the Family Law Bar Association and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.
