Profile

Duncan has a broad practice in commercial law with a particular focus on insolvency and other matters arising under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). He also practices in public law, especially in migration and NDIS matters. 

He accepts briefs to appear in all Australian courts and tribunals.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Duncan was a solicitor in the litigation teams at Gilbert + Tobin and HWL Ebsworth. Duncan primarily worked on matters involving insolvency, corporations and securities law, schemes of arrangement, contracts, consumer law, equity and regulatory issues.

Duncan was associate to the Honourable Justice Kyrou, initially at the Victorian Court of Appeal and then later when his Honour was a Federal Court Judge and President of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. He assisted his Honour with the hearing of a wide variety of matters including wills & estates, migration and disciplinary matters. Duncan also worked extensively on the transition from the AAT to the new Administrative Review Tribunal.

Duncan graduated with a Juris Doctor (First Class Honours) from the University of Melbourne. He also has a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma in Languages from that university.

Duncan read with Kane Loxley SC and his senior mentor is Emrys Nekvapil SC.
