Eliza Bergin practises in public law and regulatory and commercial law. 

Eliza represents corporations, individuals, government and institutional clients and appears as Counsel Assisting.  Eliza appears in all jurisdictions including Federal and State Courts, Tribunals, Inquiries and Royal Commissions.  She has over 20 years of experience in large commercial and government firms and at the Bar.  

From January 2019 - February 2021, Eliza was appointed Counsel Assisting the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety (led by P Gray QC and P Rozen QC).  Eliza has experience in a range of Boards of Inquiry and Royal Commissions (refer list below).

Eliza's particular expertise is in planning and environment, land valuation, compulsory acquisition, energy and resources matters. She has represented clients from a range of industry sectors. This includes appearing as advocate for clients in judicial review, regulatory enforcement, civil penalty proceedings in the Federal Court, VCAT enforcement and review, Heritage Council, advisory committees and panels before PPV and trial counsel in the Supreme Court.
