Amanda accepts briefs to appear and advise in a broad range of commercial law and dispute resolution matters, at a trial and appellate level. A selection of cases and publications are set out in the above tabs.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Amanda practiced as a solicitor for over 12 years in the areas of commercial litigation and insolvency law, and regularly appeared in the Supreme, Federal and Federal Circuit Courts in Victoria and interstate.
Amanda is particularly skilled in areas involving personal or corporate insolvency (recommended in Doyle’s Guide 2022) and is regularly engaged by insolvency practitioners and creditors in a broad spectrum of insolvency, restructure, and turnaround contexts. She appears led and unled in complex commercial disputes, public examinations, and is briefed to provide technical and strategic advice in related areas, such as shareholder oppression, voidable transactions, insolvent trading, PPSA and other priority disputes, breaches of directors’ duties, and matters involving partnerships and trusts.
Amanda has published regular journal articles relating to developing areas of law and practice, and has for many years been an active member of ARITA, WIRV, and the Law Council of Australia’s Insolvency Reconstruction Committee.
