Tim Marsh

 

Tim practices in all areas of crime, he has a particularly strong practice in mental impairment and disability law. His work at first instance and on appeal in this area have helped clarify and reshape how the Victorian Courts treat offenders with mental illnesses. In 2020, his advocacy in the decision of Brown v The Queen saw the 2017 case of DPP v O'Neill overturned, allowing courts to take personality disorders into account in sentencing. 
Michael McGrath

 

Michael appears regularly in trials. He has been selected as a member of the Victoria Legal Aid Criminal Trial Preferred Barrister List.

Dr Mark Gumbleton

 

Mark Gumbleton holds a doctorate in criminal law in the area of complicity, he is a trial barrister that is privately briefed from the filing of charges, through to committal, and ultimately at trial before a jury. 

Mark's expertise is in organised and white-collar crime. He is experienced in crime involving allegations of violence, drugs, firearms/weapons, blackmail, and extortion.


Richard Edney

 

Richard is a defence barrister who values and enjoys the responsibility of representing all of his clients from his base at Niagara Lane Chambers.

He has had an extensive appellate practice in the Victorian Court of Appeal and has appeared in a substantial number of matters involving appeals against conviction and sentence.


Adam Chernok

 

Adam is an experienced defence advocate in a broad range of serious criminal law and related administrative law and public interest matters.  He is particularly adept at representing clients in cases arising out of sophisticated investigations and involving complex evidentiary and legal issues.

He holds an Indictable Crime Certificate, is on the Victoria Legal Aid Preferred Barrister List and is accredited as an advocacy instructor by the Victorian Bar.


Dr Julian Murphy

 

Julian accepts briefs in all areas of public law, particularly criminal, administrative and constitutional law, as well as torts and class actions against public authorities. He is a member of the VLA Criminal Trial Preferred Barrister List.
