Criminal Appeal Barristers

Listed in this section are Queen's Counsel / Senior Counsel and Junior Counsel experienced in appearing in appellate courts in relation to an appeal against convictions and sentences imposed by a lower court. An offender who is sentenced in the Magistrates’ Court can appeal against conviction and/or sentence, to the County Court. The Victorian Court of Appeal hears appeals against convictions and sentences imposed by the County and Supreme Courts. The functions of the High Court of Australia are to interpret and apply the law of Australia and to hear appeals, by special leave, from Federal, State and Territory courts.
